This is a social accountability project which aims to use technology and professional reporting to galvanise citizens to get involved in tracking and implementing various projects promised by the Government. This we do through citizen journalism, education and specific focus on sectors of human development.
Christened UDEME in Nigeria which means “My Share”, we encourage citizens to ask questions and get involved in interrogating budget and budgeting processes. Udeme was launched in 2017 with a mandate to track capital, ecological and constituency projects at the national and sub-national levels.
So far, it has tracked over a thousand projects. It has also trained over 200 campus journalists in five tertiary institution on budget and procurement tracking with over 60 U-Monitors.
