The Natural Resource and Extractives Programme (NAREP) aims to promote natural resource and extractive sector reforms through in-depth, analytical media coverage, highlighting the reforms needed in the sector’s governance. 

Mission

We hope to build the capacity of the media to become a central player in reporting development issues in resource governance, thus advancing accountability, transparency and good governance in the sector through open data, investigative journalism and civic technology.

Objectives

To promote Nigerian Natural Resource (Oil and gas, solid minerals, marine life and forest) sector reforms through in-depth, analytical coverage that highlights the reforms needed in the governance of the natural resource sector.
Increased institutional capacity for Nigerian journalists in reporting Natural resource issues, also making them a trusted source of information on these issues
To support journalists with financial resources to report the natural resource and extractive sector effectively.
To make data on the natural resource sector available to citizens, journalists, researchers, and governments for news reporting, advocacy, and policy insights.
