Media in National Elections (MiNE)
This project aims to bring accountability to the electoral process by adopting a multifaceted approach through engaging stakeholders through professional reporting, strategic collaboration with other CSOs working in elections, election observation, and policy research. We understand that an enlightened citizen and voter is better positioned to understand the electoral process and demand accountability; hence, we focus on voter education by spotlighting issues like electoral laws, political parties, electoral finances, electoral offences, voter suppression, and voter apathy, diversity, and inclusion, among other themes. The MiNE project has created a coalition of journalists to report on issues around the electoral process and election integrity through verified data.
Mission
To enhance electoral integrity and strengthen democratic governance through electoral accountability, voter education, and informed citizens’ participation through rigorous reporting, data-driven journalism, and building coalitions.
