CJID PARTNERS WITH SOCIETY FOR DECISION MAKING UNDER DEEP UNCERTAINTY (DMDU) AND NIGERIAN ECONOMIC SUMMIT GROUP (NESG) TO HOST THE 2024 DMDU SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAMME

The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) has partnered with the Society for Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty (DMDU) and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) to host the 2024 Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty (DMDU) Summer School Program – the first ever hosted in Africa. This landmark summer school aims to enhance the capacity of decision-makers to address complex challenges in an increasingly uncertain world.

The 2024 DMDU Summer School is scheduled from 29 July to 2 August 2024 at Johnwood Hotel, Abuja. It will bring together graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, practitioners, and faculty for one week of intensive study and interdisciplinary training in decision-making under deep uncertainty, facilitate their use in practice, and foster effective and responsible decision-making in our rapidly changing world.

The Summer School is structured across three tracks:

  1. Methods: Courses focused on tools and methods used in DMDU research and practice.
  2. Policy: Courses focused on the application of DMDU in various fields.
  3. Foundational: Courses focused on understanding the theoretical foundations of the society’s work

The program will be facilitated by leading experts in the field of DMDU, including renowned scholars and seasoned practitioners. Participants will have the opportunity to learn advanced analytical methods, engage in interactive sessions, and discuss real policy cases presented by the facilitators. This blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application is designed to foster a comprehensive understanding of DMDU principles and practices.
