The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development is calling on Abuja based health and climate change journalists to apply for a masterclass in Health and Environmental Reporting. The course will hold in the second week of April in Abuja. Kindly spread the word and/or apply by the April 7th deadline.
Annually, the world celebrates World Health Day – a day set aside to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The World Health Organisation estimated that more than 13 million deaths around the world each year are due to avoidable environmental causes. This includes the climate crisis which is the single biggest health threat facing humanity. The climate crisis is also a health crisis.
This year’s theme is Our planet, Our health. It focuses on the urgent actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy and foster a movement to create a society – focused on well-being.
To amplify this discussion, the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development will train 20 Abuja based journalists on health and environmental reporting.
