Umaru Pete
Board Chairperson
Umaru A. Pate is a Professor of Mass Communication and the Deputy President of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN). He was Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, Bayero University, Kano, a position he secured after serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Communications at the same university. He is currently the Vice-Chancellor (pioneer) of Federal University, Kashere Gombe State.
Professor Pate holds a PhD in Media History from the University of Maiduguri, Masters of Philosophy from the University of Ghana, Legon and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from the University of Maiduguri.

Frederick Adetiba
Board Secretary
Frederick Adetiba is a seasoned Human Resource Management and Development practitioner, Business Management Specialist, and Transformation Strategist. He leads the Kappa and Omega Company Team to help businesses and organisations navigate internal transformation to be repositioned for profitability, sustainability and impact.
Frederick Adetiba holds a Diploma in Social Work for Development and a BSc. In Sociology from the University of Jos, Nigeria, a Master’s degree in Sociology from Stellenbosch University, South Africa and a professional diploma in Human Resource Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria.

Akintunde Akanni
Board Member
Dr Tunde Akanni is a journalist, media scholar and development expert with experiential assets in diverse communications practice and scholarship. An alumnus of Ilorin, Columbia, Leicester and Ibadan Universities, as well as the Institute of Social Studies, Den Haag, Netherlands, he was, at various times, among others, a distinguished British Chevening Scholar and a Netherlands NUFFIC awardee.
He is currently an Associate Professor of Journalism at the School of Communication of the Lagos State University, where he also doubles as the pioneer Director of the Digital Media Research Centre, DMRC.

Audrey Gadzekpo

Audrey Gadzekpo has more than 20 years of experience in teaching, research and advocacy on media, gender and governance, and more than 25 years of practical experience as a journalist, working variously as a reporter, editor, contributor, columnist, talk show host, socio-political commentator and magazine publisher/editor. She obtained a doctorate degree in African Studies at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, a Master of Arts in Communications from Brigham Young University, Utah, USA and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Ghana.
She teaches courses in Print Journalism, Media, Culture and Society, Gender and Communication, Introduction to Gender, Communicating Climate, Qualitative Research Methods, Media Ethics and History of Media in Africa.

Babafemi Folorunsho
Board Member
Dr Folorunso was born in Ibadan, Southwest Nigeria, in 1958. He went into journalism, starting at Radio Nigeria in 1977, Nigerian Tribune (1978 – 1989), where he worked variously as reporter, special correspondent, news desk editor, editorial page editor, head of features, and member of the editorial board. He read Dramatic Arts at Obafemi Awolowo University, followed by a Master’s degree in Literature-in-English. .
Femi earned a PhD in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, UK . He was director of Scottish Universities’ International Summer School (1999-2001), and lecturer in cultural theory. He was lecturer in drama and dramatic theory at Queen Margaret University, and visiting lecturer in postcolonial drama at the University of Dundee. He currently works in arts administration and cultural policy in Scotland, UK. He is a visiting professor in theatre anthropology and dramatic theory at Mozarteum University Salzburg, Austria.

Adeshola Komolafe

Adeshola Komolafe is a digital entrepreneur who is convinced that the future of entrepreneurship in Nigeria and Africa at large depends on women. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Oak TV and Media Insight, an Integrated Marketing Communications firm with headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. .
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Bayero University, Kano. She also studied Digital Marketing at MIT Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts and Digital Storytelling at the Columbia Business School, New York. Adeshola currently consults for several DfID programmes.

Nwadinobi Ezinne

Dr Ezinne Nwadinobi is a Member of the National Institute, Kuru (SEC. 30, 2008). She was educated in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, with a PhD. in Agriculture from the University of Reading, England. She has worked in advertising, insurance, reinsurance, and the public service, from where she retired as a Director, serving her last four years in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. She spent most of her time in public service in the National Planning Commission. She represented the Commission on the Governing Boards of the National Hospital, Abuja, Raw Materials Research and Development Council and the National Productivity Council. She also served on many National and inter-ministerial committees
